Nice picture - a lovely thing at this time of year, even if a bit strange.... Also a very useful tree for ladybirds; the spindle is the (an) overwintering host for the black bean aphid - Aphis fabae - so bean growers don't like it but ladybirds do!

I was in North Yorks yesterday and struck by how prolifically spindle was fruiting this year - also the leaves going unusually red.
