They are strange beasts - enormous noses and necks like a caricature of a Victorian vicar; in some ways like a turkey prepared for Xmas .... but, when flying, really elegant. As you said, nice to get them lined up like this in full aerodynamic power and grace! Good pic - and all that blue sky, takes you back to the summer ....

Thanks Paul, they are very strange looking birds. And the neck is incredibly long, especially when you see it stretched out in flight.
