Definitely not 10-spot ladybird which has pale legs, amonst other things. My immediate thought was 11-spot ladybird, Coccinella undecimpunctata, which has eleven spots usually, ocellation commonly and large scutellar spot (the one in the middle). There are possibly a couple of features against that (the white patches on the forebody are usually confined to the front corner and the hind body is slightly elongated, more typical of Hippodamia than Coccinella) - I'll investigate further!

Yes, I'm happier about C. undecimpunctata now.

Interestingly there is a subspecies, C. undecimpunctata aegyptiaca but I don't know what its features are ....
