Two lizards from the south coast of the island of Houat, Britanny. August 2006. One basking on rock (granite?) the other at the base of sandstone cliffs.

Anyone have a name for them?

Hi Paul, I think this is a Common Wall Lizard Podarcis Muralis. They are quite variable in colour depending on the region.

Thanks. I'm going to get a book on Eurasian reptiles one day! There seem to be quite a few nameless lizards in the galleries ....
