Should note that this was taken on a *very* hot day in August 2003 wth a lot of haze - the park extends a long way down the coast and back into the hills. Some part are farmed by traditional methods and there are orchards which can be wandered round at will. However, access to much of the park is only achieved in small groups under the supervision of official guides. Doubtless this is why it still retains its natural value. The beach is long, golden and almost entirely deserted - if it were not for the Park, most of this vegetation would have been chopped down for hotels and the beach would be packed solid in the usual Italian fashion!
