Two wings and short antennae so a fly (Diptera) - a Volucella?

Hi John & Paul, I agree with Paul, I don't do Diptera, but with only 5 species (or so) in our area, and remarkable ones at that, Volucella is one of those groups even I can can 'grasp' - think we can safely store this one as Volucella bombylans
