What an interesting cathedral! Love the shape of it. It's so nice to see on in a completly different style to all the western European ones. Any idea when it was built and is this the normal style churches/cathedrals are built in in Cuba? Did you also go inside by the way, and if so is the interior also very different?

The cathedral was built in the Spanish style. It is catholic and in Cuba, though a communist regime, they are allowed to worship. It is very grand inside but on the same style as the exterior.

There are two main religions in Cuba - catholic and santeria which is a combination of christianity and voodoo but not like the voodoo in Haiti. The santerians worship saints but use good luck symbols like skulls etc to ward away evil spirits.
