Gone to seed - ID please

Image 1. 24-04-2011 I first saw this plant in a fast drying up water hole. ( see existing thread Plants and a water hole )
I wasn't sure if the two different colour heads here were the same plant or not.

Image 2. 05-05-2011 the first seeds were forming. You can see the flowers are in two colours.

Image 3. 11-05-2011 there was a mass of seeds everywhere (and look how much the grass has grown!).
There was no surface water to be seen, just a a bit spongy and damp.

I haven't a clue about this, can anyone help with a name?

looks like Creeping Willow - Salix repens var.argentea. We have it up on the Sefton Coast. Check out the 'in fruit' photo by Dr Phil Smith at
