Plant evolution
We don't often read about plant fossils (well, they don't fossilise as easily as vertebrates!) so this find in Argentina is interesting; suggests that plants colonised land earlier than thought.

... and this suggests that a very early form of gren alga is alive and well in the Pacific Ocean.
