Map Please!!!

Stuart, this forum seems to have really taken off lately. New members are contributing to threads and uploading some amazing new images into the gallery from all over. Would it be possible to have a world map like on WAB?
I think it would be interesting, I'd love to see where they are .

Yes, that would be very interesting.
It will, of course, depend on people feeding into it ....

As a 'by-the-way', I think it would be very good if people could include their locality in their personal data but also when uploading pictures. I suppose that the best thing would be town, province/county/region, country - in many ways the middle one is the most important - Russia, China, Canada, Brazil are enormous countries so a bit more detail is useful!

On the other hand, some of the most mystifying locations I've found here are in the UK so detail is helpful ... and I know that I forget to do it often enough!

Looking forward to a big map

I shall just cover myself here , when I say "North Holland" on my posts or photos - I mean it as one of the 12 Dutch provinces and not the North of the country .
Actually there are 2 provinces further North than us!

The location map on LiveJournal is run by google maps. You just enter your address or place where you took a photo and it will pin-point you

Well done Stu.
Tell us, what are the various green patches on the map?

Thanks Stuart, I added me, but can only see a Manchester area "balloon" on the main map and have to go to Edit your location to see my ballon at all. Is there a reason for not having our names on the ballon? Sorry to be a pest, but I hoped to be able to see the world map plus balloons at the same time and then zoom in on the areas like the WAB one.

Paul -did you put yourself on? As I cant see you at all, unless you have moved to Manchester .

Thanks for putting the map on Stuart.
I've added my balloon and so far I can see 5 altogether.
Anymore takers?.....It will be really good to see where all the different members are all across the world!

How strange
All I do is click on the link Stuart gave and I can see Stuart's, Paul's, Eric's, Goosey's and mine.
I've just checked now and they are all still there, very curious.
It's not very often I'm the chosen one, but I feel very honoured today!!

Well.....I've just had a bit of a thought.... and when I use Mozilla firefox I can see them all ......but when I use Internet Explorer......I can't!!!.....just the Manchester one!!!

So I deduce from that, that you may well be using IE ????
Am I right???

Just a thought anyway

Well Suzanne - the chosen one!- give yourself a pat on the back! I just tried on Mozilla firefox and I can see all 5 now, I don't have it on my account but just tried the hubby's to check out your theory. I use IE. But now we know what the problem is!

I hope to see a few more on the map now .

Oh no! that is such a shame! Wild World has now put himself on the map from South Africa, I had to swap accounts again though to be able to see it. I wonder if this is the sort of thing which Stuart will be able to sort out from his end, or IE users are doomed in not being able to see the map .

Sorry Tanny, I missed you there, nice to see you!
