It's humid, torrential rain, extremely dark and now thunder and lightning! Woohoo!

I don't want to put anyone off their dinner, but I'm sitting here near-naked dripping dry from a torrential thunder storm as I was walking up the hill ...

I couldn't eat my tea after reading that .
Yesterday was hot (for us, not Steve and Rens sort of hot ) and humid, it was 28 deg, windy and practically total cloud cover. It felt like we would have a storm at anytime but it never happened.
Today it is 18 deg and isn't forecast to get any warmer - mind you it is a lot more comfy than yesterday.

It's sunny - no it's not - yes it is. The same can be said for the wind, the rain and the temperature . Still, I managed to get some cracking views of the local Little Swift

The rain cleared up in Liege, Belgium, for the start of Le Tour de France. On and off here - seems to be the general story!

It did get up to 26 deg later on but the humidity stayed and the rain expected did not arrive.
Yesterday was hot and airless, 28 deg.
This morning we woke to a drizzle, its only 20 deg at the mo, totally grey but comfy with a stiff breeze.

Sunday was a wash out .
This morning it is very dull and very windy .

Continuous rolling cloud for a few days:

With occasional downpours and even the occasional blast of sunshine! I gather that the hose-pipe bans have been lifted in southern England.
Quite sunny as the Tour de France entered Switzerland with a British team holding yellow and spotty jerseys.

Sunny adn warm as the Tour went through the Jura and Switzerland but getting duller as they reach the Mediterranean. Going along the coast to Agde; I remember miles and miles of golden sand along this coast - most of it whipped up into a sandstorm whch could rip your skin off!

It has been very wet for days.
Today though after another wet morning the sun came out around 1pm and so did the bees and hoverflies en masse and even a red admiral, only the second I have seen in the garden all year!
It is still sunny and dry and feels lovely but more clouds are looming, at least the insects have had a chance to get out and feed.

The complete opposite of yesterday, a beautiful morning spent pottering around the garden, IU even managed my first brew of the day out there at 7am, but by early afternoon it poured and poured. The wind has got up, it looks a bit misty down the road and it is still raining.

The Tour de France having pleasant enough weather : I have a personal interest in the weather of the Midi-Pyrenees at the moment! Meanwhile, the Tour de Pologne [why is the Tour of Poland always referred to in French rather than as Wyścig Dookoła Polski?] went through very green countryside - clearly no shortage of rain in Poland. . Here, just the usual rolling cloud .... too wet to mow the lawn but warm enough to do some gardening ....

Le Tour seems to have had reasonable weather today with a few drops of rain. I'm not quite sure where they were started near Toulouse I think .... on the way to the coast - going near Ren?

A dine sunny day to cycle along the Seine and into the heart of Paris without a car in sight. An exciting end to le Tour - but what shall I watch on TV for the next week or so?
Back in Sheffield, a pleasant enough day to walk arounf the Botanical Gardens. Weather forecast suggests hot weather for the next week all over the British Isles except for a grey band stretching over the north Midlands and Yorkshire ....

It has been great hasn't it - hours of cycling, I have managed to watch most of everydays racing and here in Holland we have been spoiled having two evening review programmes. I loved the Tour this year and the result . Friday I could hardly contain my self with the finish! Funny though after all these years everyone is all of a sudden a cycling fan - great for the sport but touches of everyone jumping on the bandwagon while the Brits are doing well - I remember when there was hardly a Brit to be seen on a Bike 8-10 years ago when I first discovered the joys of the Tour de France when they didn't even have to wear helmets on the flat stages and I was Cheering on the Germans Jan Ulrich and Andreas Kloden in Team mobile.
So glad MC finished the Tour, I was in doubt before it started and glad I was wrong.
Oh well only 49 weeks to go, Viva la Tour!
After the sport time for the weather - Friday was the first day in weeks without rain but summer was meant to start yesterday or so they had been promising us all week but it started today, thank goodness, warm and sunny and dry -and don't we need some of that .

It has been a lovely week so far, hot at around 28 degrees.
The 23rd was the flying ant day when they all appeared for a few hours.
The trouble is the summery weather is only due to last until Friday and then its all change on Saturday with temps forecast below 20 deg and rain.

It has been variable since the weekend, huge storms a bit of sun, more rain.
The rain usually picking up for mothing time .
Yesterday feeling cold and it poured and was rather windy again I went out around 10pm to look for moths and it was raining 5 minutes later, luckily it cleared up after 30mins and some nice moths made an appearance.
Today, it is bright and sunny, a cloudless sky with the temp slowly climbing as the morning goes on.

Well,I crossed the North Sea over night and I am very pleased to say the crossing was so much better than last year - no gales .
We left Hull and it was grey and a little mist on the horizon, crossing the Pennines in sunshine, got in to Cumbria and the roads were wet and the sky looked very dodgy. Less than 5 miles from our destination we had to plough through flash floods and there was the remains of lots of hail on the road only to arrive at our destiation which was dry, had seen no rain and it is sunny. Cumbria has some strange weather. .

Since the dodgy weather the day we arrived it has been wonderful, 5 day's of sunshine - yes, I said sunshine and Cumbria all in the same sentence . (I am taking full credit for this sunshine and lack of rain because I bought a new rain coat the first day of the holidayand forgot to pack the after sun)
Today was 'hot' and I am a little bit too pink .
