Canals
Canals aren't the most 'natural' of habitats but, nowadays they are relatively undisturbed. Easy tro walk if not always to navigate. Apparently they are supportive of quite a lot of wildlife in UK: http://www.waterscape.com/news/nid853%3B
Does anyone have experience of canals elsewhere. I've often considered sailing the Canal du Midi but can get little information ....
