Colombia

Has anyone ever visited Colombia and seen interesting wildlife there?

It may be a bit of a preconceived idea but I wouldn't have thought Colombia was on the tourist trail?
I would imagine the wildlife would be amazing though like the rest of South America's wildlife to Europeans.

It is amazing wildlifle. My wife is from Cali which is why we go there.
However it is such a difficult place to go anywhere because few westeners go there and the locals have no interest in wildlife. If you ask people in Cali where is a good place to go (I speak Spanish) none of them no.

I've paid two brief visits to Colombia, 10-12 years ago. Leticia, by the Amazon, seemed more relaxed than Bogota. I paid one of the boat owners down by the river to take me birdwatching and we saw toucanets - and a pink dolphin. Cartagena on the coast is nice and you can arrange set local tours through your hotel.
