A general hello

I don't have the time (or, often, the inclination) to welcome every newcomer but, of course, do welcome them. Not everyone introduces themselves here. Some people don't introduce themselves at all on the fora but do put pictures into the galleries. I've just noticed some from Mrs Smee - excellent pics. I hope everyone will look in the galleries and make helpful comments.

One thing that might encourage this would be if people putting photos in a gallery would send a mail to an appropriate forum with a link to (at least) one of their pictures? Not everyone looks in the galleries regularly, which is a shame because there are some really intresting pics there - old and new!

I'd like to add my welcomes to that as well, although I don't always welcome people individually I'm still pleased that they're on the site

And I agree about the gallery, it's shaping up to be a very interesting resource.
