Hello from a Brit living in Holland!

Hi all! I have also come over from WAB - enticed over by the offer to look at Paul M's photo's . I recognise a few others from there aswell but it will be nice to meet you all. I hope to be able to contribute and shall delve into to my photo's to see what I can post. No exotic animals or birds in Holland I am afraid but I shall do my best. See you around .

Thanks Guy, I have added a couple I liked to the galllery which I couldn't put on WAB because they were taken here - it's a start.

Glad to see you - you'll find far better photos than mine - including your own - there are quite a few insects in the Netherlands that aren't found in UK so shall look forward to them
Cheers, Paul

Hi Paul, what are these insects I should be looking out for? You ID'd a Church Yard beetle and a Calvia decemguttata for me that are not common in Britain. I might have a host of things in the garden that I see and don't find unusual - or not . I am not poking around too much at the mo - far too many spiders this time of year .

Far too many things to list - UK has, at best only 80% of the animal species list of continental NW Europe, several ladybirds are missing to start with. A particularly attractive one is Oenopia conglobata: http://users.pandora.be/roeland.libe...img/oencon.jpg ...
and lots of spiders not found here ...
