Greetings from Bulgaria

I recently came across this forum and have now decided to join! It seems to be filled with a lot of interesting information and advice, as well as enthusiastic discussion about all things that wildlife and environment related.

Although born and raised in the UK, where I still spend some of the year, the bulk of my time now is spent in Bulgaria, where I operate my own walking and wildlife holiday company called Balkan Trek: Bulgaria - Walking and Wildlife (Holidays in Bulgaria)

I am passionate about the Bulgarian mountains and their amazing biodiversity, and it is there that I now consider my true home, though I do migrate backwards and forwards to England at certain times during the year!

Hopefully during the coming months I will be able to share with you all on the forum some of my sightings and experiences of birds, flowers and other other wildlife in the Bulgarian mountains, and also maybe to answer some questions about where to go and what can be seen there by anyone planning a trip.

I also want to keep you informed about some of the key conservation issues currently facing Bulgaria, and some of the serious threats now facing its biodiversity, national parks and other protected territories.

Sounds great and I'd hope to try it one day. However, looking at a couple of pages, these are in German - not one of my languages - it would be nice to have English translations!
Do these holidays involve getting to Sofia and then being taken on tour?
