Hi all, just joined too
Becoming a Zoo Keeper is my one and only dream
I've spent a lot of time at Paignton Zoo, my Nan lives just up the road/hill
But im not near by, in Northants/Bucks area.
Not been in for a couple of years, Do they still have Dutches and Gay??? (the elephants), Gay was always my favorite as a kid, think I always felt sorry for her as her ears are so much smaller than Dutches

Hello Beebeautiful and welcome to WATW!
It's a great place to be here, very friendly and nice and laid back too.
Looking forward to posts and photos ( and finding out if you get your dream and become a real life Zoo Keeper! )
See you around the forums!

It's lovely to have you with us and posting your images fron the US - very nice!
Good luck with your dream of becoming a zoo keeper - what would you hope to be in charge of?

Hi Beebeautiful, welcome from me too although we have already 'met'.
It's good to see another enthusiast here, with a great sense of humour too!

Don't think I'd mind what i was in charge of really.
Always had an immense fascination for insects, but that doesn't mean I'm not fascinated by everything else living as well!!
When I was 18 and at college I was fortunate enough to go to Australia and do 7 weeks work experience at a wildlife sanctuary, Billabong Sanctuary, Townsville. http://www.billabongsanctuary.com.au/
I loved every minute of it . Got to work with everything from sugar gliders to wedge tailed eagles, kangaroo to cassowary and all the other obvious things crocs, koalas, wombats, fruit bats ...etc.... Loved working with them all every day particularly the snakes. Couldn't pick a favourite
Seems like such a long time ago (7yrs).
Ended up in an office job but would love to realise my dream and get back into working with animals.
