Wildlife Photographer of the Year

Does anyone go to these?
Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year - Natural History Museum

If I'd known about it before then I might have gone. I'll have to make a note for next year

It is a regular thing - they sometimes have great marquees up outside the Museum, sometimes it's inside. I don't get to the BM(NH) as often as I used so have missed them for several years ... but the quality of photography and originality of viewing used to be outstanding.

Not too sure that I like Shell's funding but beggars can't be ...

I visited the Rouen Museum d'Histoire Naturelle - most sizeable French towns have one and they're often quite interesting on local geology/palaeontology but mainly have rather dull exhibits of stuffed birds and the like ....
However, at Rouen the place was livened up by a visit from the photographs of the winners of the international wildlife photography competition:
Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year - Online gallery
Most of these were pretty but some of them were really interesting and stimulating.
Amongst my favourites were:
Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year - Online gallery
and
Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year - Online gallery
Give the exhibition a visit if it visits a town near you .....
I'm sure that we might have some photogarphers who actually enter the competition?
