I haven't gone yet so thanks! Still too dark to see what the weather's like.
The same to you and everyone else - hope we all have a good time.

    Hi Paul;
I presume you won't see this until your return so I hope that you had a fabulous Christmas and enjoyed Jools Holland in a new context. All the best for 2010.

Heck, I shan't be cooking tomorrow - will probably only get there in time to eat, hopefully. I'm on for Saturday and fourteen will be a relatively small number!
We'll be granny sitting after the 26th - the first time we've not been at home in Sheffield for New Year's Eve this century - watching Jools Holland has become a family tradition ... but I don't suppose it matters where you watch it?
Now, computer off, early night and hope the weather in the Midlands isn't too bad ...
    Have fun yourselves!

Thanks Paul. Although the worst of winter is to come, I always think of Christmas as a milestone and think its down hill to the spring. Bulbs are pushing up through the snow and I can't wait for the flowers to appear now.
I hope you get to your destination and have a great meal tomorrow, rather you than me cook for that many just the one extra for me thank goodness .
    Enjoy x

Yes, we shall see; hoping that the roads will clear a little by then - otherwise the four of us will be eating a meal for fourteen on Saturday! Now that the solstice has passed we can say that the days are getting longer and it won't be long until Spring ..... Hope all goes well with you.
    Cheers, Paul

The swans seemed to enjoy it.
    Glad you're okay.
Last night I saw a snip on the news programme about the damage done to sports grounds - one where they'd just relayed a pitch which was now covered in silt, gravel and boulders! A lot of work to be done ....

    Thanks Paul.
Yes it's been an awful week here weatherwise with what seemed like constant torrential rain and gales force winds but luckily Barrow-in-Furness managed to escape the destruction faced in areas just a short distance away.
It seems strange that even though so many other places in S. Cumbria were badly affected by floods the news focused mainly on Cockermouth. It's a shame that they have hardly been mentioned when it is bad for them as well.
Here's a link to see how the floods affected some of those areas of the Lakes and there are more pictures on that site taken yesterday showing the areas now the flood water has receded. Quite unbelieveable really.
    What power the weather has!

The weather is much calmer now but also much colder.....still wet though!
