Thanks, I am glad you managed to sort it out, it is annoying when you know you have seen something but just can't place where. Thats is why I couldn't bring it to mind though, because it was on WAB, I don't bother with it at all these days and only ever log in when I need to get hold of StuartDH.
Guess who got the freckles, another week like this and they will al have joined up (and at my age ) ,amazing what a few hours sunshine can do .
Enjoy the weather and see you around .

Hi Shirley, just to fill in the gap. I PM's Basquesteve the other day - about the cranes. In the same mail I asked him about my memory of his having found something washed up on the beach at Biarritz and he's sent me the link. I just thought I'd send it on to you too, since you were good enough to try to find a solution for me. Here it is: Is this a dead Dolphin (its not a pretty site) - Wild About Britain

Hi Carolyn, I have been giving your querie some thought about interesting things washed up on the beach and can't come up with anything sorry.
It might be worth leaving Steve a message incase it was one of his photo's/posts and he can let you know. He said he was off to Portugal so might not be able to get back to you for a while.
Could you have seen the item on a different forum?
I will keep thinking. I hope you are getting some nice weather down there, what a lovely thought, some sun on my face, who cares about the freckles !

Hello Carolyn! Nice of you to say so.
I would be lost without this site. I know its not very busy, but what few active members there are really friendly and funny, and most of the time some one can help with an ID or info' needed. We don't take ourselve too seriously which I think makes for a nice forum .
Its funny I came here with just being interested in s few insects I found in the garden I was trying to ID for my website, but moths were my passion. Then seeing peoples fungi finds I thought "I want to find some of them" and off I went , now it seems to be things I find on the beach and sea birds that has caught my interest - ideal as it is quiet this time of year on the moth, insect and fungi front . So I usually have something to be trawling for to keep me out of mischief - its either that or an immaculately cleaned house .
Take care now, and don't limit yourself to bothering us with obsure finds - bother us with anthing anytime!
    See you around, Shirley

Hi Goosey - I didn't know until this morning that you had another name so......Hi Shirley!! Thank you for your New Year wishes. Mine to you - and your family.

Reading your posts on a fairly regular basis is like getting messages from a friend - there's always something there from you. Thank goodness. And you always sound so cheery - it's a tonic.

Happy hunting for 2012 and I'm sure I'll be back to bother you and everyone else with some obscure find later in the year.

    Bonne année

    Carolyn
