    Hi Duncan
Sorry it's taken me so long to reply. (we've just got an allotment and are spending a lot of time there trying to sort it out and build a shed and the like.)
I must admit that it was always a childhood dream of mine to grow a bonsai tree from seed. I bought endless kits when I was young but think I must have either been unlucky or a bit short in the patience department. Anyway in the end and many years later we now have one courtesy of Morrisons! I'm not sure what type it is though.
Did you grow yours from seed or is there another method?
Your welcome about the comment on your BBC (that doesn't look right but I was trying to save on my typing .....didn't work did it ), it is a stunning and sharp shot.....definately professional standard and a pleasure to see!
    Suzanne

Not bored at all, its good to hear about other things. It's an interesting hobby you have there and they do look so good in your garden. I love the way you are not too precious about them and let the insects loose on them!

Thanks Duncan for putting that picture on, the only moth trap I have ever seen in the flesh was the last couple of times I have visited the South Walney Nature Reserve in Cumbria, but that was without the light, I could see what moths were still in the among the egg boxes and hadn't already flown - great to see what a variety there was I never see.
Nice bonsai's - I didn't realise they could be kept outside.
My pupa still hasn't emerged, but another I have been watching has, it was on some stinging nettles with a few others - not all the same I think and on Friday I put them in a Jar. I thought it was too cramped so i got a small pet carrier thing, clear plastic box with lots of air slits in the hood and a little access flap yesterday and put them in there. I sellotaped the leaves they were hanging from to a twig.Between 6.30- 8pm tonight one emerged (I missed it!), a Green oak Tortix - quite lovely - I am so chuffed even though it has already flown!

Hi Duncan - how did your mothing go? What sort of area are you based?
We have had lots of Silver Y's this week - usually between 3-8 a night over the last week, apart from them and garden carpets its been quiet, even the micro's have eased off a bit. the lavender buds are just about open so that should help, the red valerian is a great hit.
The weather is gorgeous so things are on the up!
