Bears

Bears don't get mentioned as often as they might.
Nature Canada has a good site with a particularly amusing photo of the month - what polar bears do when they're not sleeping or hunting:

We had a recent visit. It was amazing to see one so closely. I won't hijack this thread - I'll post about it separately. But you can click my sig to see a pic.
Powerful.

I don't think that would be hijacking! Personally I prefer a lengthy thread on related subjects (polar bears, grizzly bears, black bears &c) to lots of short threads which can slip below the radar ..... Hijack my mails whenever you want
Can't complain about your reaction to your visitor - must have been a tremendous experience.
Doesn't look as if other bears are doing so well in USA this year .... The Associated Press: Black Bears Growing Nuisance in West

Good chap rescuing a bear - might have been better if the poor animal hadn't been intimidated in the first place?
