Myth or Fact?
Today I came across an article about at 'Unicorn' found in Tuscany wildlife park in Italy. Basically it was a red dear with one horn growing out of the centre of it's head.
It got me me thinking about myths that are similar all round the world, and the facts they could be based on. So basically I'm going to leave you the question do you no any stories about myths that could be facts?

There have been a lot of misunderstandings, and sometimes criminal deception, by people trying to sell skulls, bones and the like. One of the most common sources of legend about unicorns is the narwhal:
mondon monoceros
Get a narwhal horn and attach it to a horse skull .....

In Nepal, you can hardly find a single person that does not claim to have seen a Yeti. Though it is unlikely that their is an actual Yeti, there must be something that they are seeing for tht many witnesses. I think what is happening is that they are catching fleeting glimpses of a species of bear native to the area (I can't remember its name).

i think the most famous myth in scotland has to be that of the loch ness monster ,our nessie!!. fact or fiction..who knows. the first recorded meeting is claimed to be by st columba in 565 AD,and some might say at the start of the tourist season ever since!!. loch ness itself is a mystery, it holds more water than all the lakes in england and wales and becuase of its position is subject to all kinds of different wind directions, causing unusual waves on the surface, often mistaken for "humps". red and roe deer swim across the loch quite easily, the loch is only about 2km wide, this, coupled with the lighting around the shores, and you have a horned head. so does it exist? i wouldn't like to comment, if it does it must be one of scotlands best kept secrets, that and what is worn under the kilt, and that one i'm afraid i will never reveal!!!!

Welcome!
You do get these sort of legends al over the world - I like this Greek serpent.
I suspect that Nessie owes a lot to warming nips in the morning ...
