Hi goosy

Top one is a Knapweed Fritillary

It has distinctive orange spots surrounded by yellow on its underside


Bottom one is a Glanville Fritillary



It has black spots on its underside where the orange ones are on a Knapweed


Simple ain't it (I jest it took years for me to work it out)

Seeing them like that helps (a little ). I think it would be nigh on impossible if you were restricted to just the undersides shot.
That garden of your does produce some wildlife gems doesn't it .

Its not so much the garden its because I live in the middle of nowhere
