Hoverfly frass?

Before I go on, is hoverfly poo also called frass?

I noticed this hoverfly this afternoon as I was focusing the camera on it, he lifted his tail and deposited this little yellow egg thing or maybe its poo - I don't know?

(ignore this next bit! I have renamed the image correctly - sorry chaps!)

Another little point - when I went to get Latin name I saw it had 2 different ones, Eristalis interrupta (Poda,1761) Eristalis nemorum auct nec (Linnaeus 1758) which should I use for the key words? (Bet I've plumped for the wrong one )
