Swallowtail, Help
Both these swallowtails were at the same place, same time. Are these two species, or different sexes, and, if so which is which?? TIA

This first butterfly is a Scarce Swallowtail - Iphiclides podalirius, the second is a Swallowtail - Papilio machaon. The names are quite misleading because the Scarce Swallowtail is generally much commoner than the Swallowtail in Europe!
They're both nice photos of nice butterflies!

Thanks, Guy, I hadn't looked carefully enough before, especially as people here are inclined to call them both papillon machaon.
I've put another pic of a smaller but striking butterfly in the insect gallery under 'unknown Butterfly', if you've time to look
