Beetle for ID please
I photographed this black beetle at the weekend hiding under some very rotten wood on the edge of a bridleway through Loggerheads CP in Wales. Probably an inch and a half long. Any help appreciated with the id. Thanks

I think you're exaggerating the length but at round 20mms it would be Abax parallelopipedus a common British ground beetle especially in woodland.
