Cocoon?

I found this hanging on a lavender twig this afternoon, it was 5mm. It was beautifully formed, the golden thread like spun sugar encasing cotton wool. I had a good look and this appears to be the only one on the plant.
Has any one an idea what made it and what is inside?

Hi Goosey,

I've found these on occasion too - beautiful little things. I was told they're cocoons of spider genus Ero.

Thank you Arp - you are right, I have just checked out Ero cocoons and there was my little golden coocon. I am rather dissapointed that its a spider and not something more glamorous - but sooo pleased to have an ID .
