Global Climate Change

During the past year Global Climate Change has become a big topic in the newspapers, television news, radio discussions and television documentaries in the UK.

Barely a day goes by without some form of news or information being broadcast about carbon dioxide levels, transport, pollution, wildlife and a host of other topics that are linked to global climate change.

is this the same situation in many other countries? I think many people in the UK would probably consider us to be behind some of the European countries, especially Scandinavia, when it comes to an awareness of the environment. However, we would probably put ourselves ahead of the United States.

So what's it like in the country that you live in? Are there many local and national initiatives to raise awareness of global climate change. Is it something that they teach in schools or regularly broadcast on television?

Yes, here is a tendency in the media and from some people who should know better to refer to 'global warming' as if the effects of climate change will be simply to warm up the whole world uniformly. There will be problems from raised temperatures but it's probably the destabilisation of weather systems that is the biggest worry. Erratic weather seems to have a harmful ffecton wildlife in UK (unless you're keen o fungi) -
