Unusual animals in Hong Kong

My friend Jon Downes and I lived in Hong Kong between the 1960s and 1980s and are currently researching for a book `The Mystery Animals of Hong Kong.`When I first started gathering materials about 15 years ago I was very sceptical that I would find any material at all but since then I have found stories of crocodiles,wolves,sea serpents,dugongs,a slow loris,one or two giant salamanders,etc.In other words I`ve found fauna that isn`t "officialy" supposed to be part of the fauna of Hong Kong according to the textbooks.

Does anyone have stories,memories,written accounts,folklore of animals in Hong Kong of an unexpected or controversial nature? Whether 21st century or earlier, I don`t mind.
