Peziza for ID

This was the only one I found on a sandy bank next to water. It was about 4cm in diameter.
I presume it is a Peziza but which one?

Hi Mal, I wish it was P ammophila, they are in the area but I have never come across one yet. I do think it is too flat for those though .
No spore prints (or even under side image) but you didn't expect that from me did you . Thanks for the link and thinking .

Woops! I think I was wrong, it isn't a Peziza but possibly a Helvella sp.

I went back today to check out the underside and it wasn't flat any more and had curled and had a stipe, not only that there were 5 in all and I thought only one.
The underside is quite granular.
The piccies aren't very good but I hope there is enough detail among them.

What do you think about them being Helvella queletii (Grote Schotelkluifzwam)?

I have had a look in my Ewalt Gerhardt Netherlands fungi book and they say also sandy and lime soil.
I will send the images to the man I do the recording for and see what he thinks .

I have had confirmation that they are indeed Helvella queletii,
a new species for me .
