Helvella?

This must be a Helvella Sp, not that I have seen any for more than a month now. I would have said H.crispa but it had no stipe at all and was 5cm in width and all you see coming out of the ground from one point. It would have been bigger (fuller) as there were loose bits which had broken off on top of and next to it.

As far as I know there is nothing else it can be other than H crispa. All the others are much simpler in the head.

I tend to agree, it was my initial thought but the lack of stipe unsettled me and made me doubt myself.
Today I checked it out again, there was no change nor any new fruiting bodies with or without stipes.
