ID please

I found these on 23-09-2010 on a dead birch, what looks like leaf on top of the younger bodies is actaully the peeling bark. The image isn't very good and when I went back to get some more shots and detail I couldn't find them . So this is it folks, all you have to go on .

Spectacular Rustgill - Gymnopilus junonius looks right thanks .

I was really annoyed with myself because when I saw it, it was in my mind and I was rather tunnel visioned about it being honey fungus. When I studied the the image later I noticed no ring and the fiberous cap and stipe -alarm bells started ringing.
