Asterophora lycoperdoides
By an amazing coincidence today, after I had posted a comment on Black's recent image of Russula nigricans this morning before sallying forth, I came across the rarely seen fungus I mentioned that she and Shirley might be lucky to find growing parasitically on rotting specimens of the Blackening Brittlegill.

Excellent find and as you say an amazing coincidence!
I can't tell you how many Russula nigricans I have seen over the last few weeks - wish Ihad paid more attention to them now!

The other one to look out for is Asterophora parasitica.
