Unidentified with red gills!
I thought this would be easily enough to ID but I have got no where yet.
Found under oak on sandy soil. There were a few around this was the largest. 4cm tall and the cap was 3.4cm across. The smaller ones still had squamules on the stipe andgranular caps but the caps were flatter.
Found under oak on sandy soil along with Mycena rosea and Ciboria batschiana.

Melanophyllum haematospermum came up when I put red gills into Mycokey. See what you think.

Other contenders would be amongst Cortinarius species, but checking FOS I would say it's spot on.

I think Melanophyllum haematospermum is spot on. The images even show the fringed remains of the veil.
Thanks David .
