Postia caesia

I found this Conifer blueing bracket - Postia caesia in October, I am 99% sure it was on a fallen Yew (Taxus baccata). Would this be usual? I know yew is part of the Conifer family somewhere down the line.

Hi Goosey
Ceasia is normally found on conifer and has been found on Taxus so you could be right.

It's such a shame about this lovely little Postia caesia, it was in a large pile of scattered wood from copicing which had proved a treasure chest for a few months for fungi. I had watched it for a few weeks and there was hardly any change in size, appearance and it didn't feel harder. Then one day I went and it had been knocked off .
Thanks for your thoughts on the wood Mal .
