Unknown cup fungus

After the deliberations on one of scribers images of an earthball, I thought I would ask about this.
I found this solitary specimen under beech on sandy soil, it was 3cm in diameter and hard to the touch. The pointed tips had a pinkish tinge but overall it was a creamy yellow.
All thought are much appreciated - thanks.

Sorry it's a bit late but I have an empty evening and I was browsing

I would say that the chances are very high of this being the remains of a Puffball Shirley. I've seen them like this on the local heath, and have seen some recently. Their rubbery texture makes them rather robust and quite invincible to weather.

A puffball would make sense - I doubted this thought origially because of the colour. Other empty/old puffball shells I have seen have been a lot darker, but this may be younger, less aged and weathered than the others.
Thanks Nick .
