I've been to Spain for several times, it's really a intriguing resorts, not only the beautiful resorts, but also kind people. Tenerife and Costa Brava are my unforgettable places, have you been there before? I’d like to share some travel experiences with you. Which countries impress you most when traveling? But where do you go for wildlife in France in November?

I'm travelling down to the Camargue by plane in July, not very environmentally friendly unfortunately but I suppose it's better than flying to Florida like I was going to. Paul, I recently bought a guide to birdwatching in Southern France and the Atlantic coast should be pretty spectacular at that time of year with thousands of ducks and waders flying in at high tide, although I doubt there are many insects around at that time in France.

When I travelled through Northern Spain the scenery was very impressive, mainly the mountains and so far that's been the best 'wildlife' holiday I've ever been on.

Never mind, hope you have a good time in the Camargue - difficult not to. There will actually be quite a lot of insects around - and I'm not just talking about mosquitos!

I'm staying near Saintes Marie de la Mer very close to the marshes. But I'll also definetely be visiting La Crau and Les Alpilles which should have some very exciting insects. I can't wait!

Let us know how it goes - hopefully with plenty of pics. I've not been to the Alpilles (just seen them from a distance) - perhaps I should get a train to Avignon in November and work my way out from there?

The Camargue, of course, is very good in general but not always easy to get around (in my experience). Probably the best visit we had there was when we stayed in a small farm just north of Arles which was flooded once a day (the grounds, not the buildings ) and had a wealth of insects which, of course, moved out of the flooding area - you just had to sit there and wait for the insects to come to you!

One tip, if you don't know already - Stes Maries has a big market weekly - buy almost anything you want and very interesting but
it's very difficult to get in/out/through the town on market day.

Thanks Paul, I really can't wait to visit. It's hard to judge the scale from looking at the maps, but hopefully where I'm staying the marshes and coast should be within walking distance so on the market days I'll just head over there, but it will be nice to see the markets anyway.
Hopefully I'll bring back some interesting shots, and I'll write up some of my findings on here.
