Eco Travel in Spain

In barcelona you will experience a great nature trip! I love travel with wilderness and I wanna know any list of great spot in the world, the more exotic the more fun.

Well, Barcelona has some nice parks and is one of my favourite cities but hardly 'wilderness'! Last time we were in Catlunya we stayed at Calella de Palafrugel Calella de Palafrugell - Villas in Calella de Palafrugell which is on a nice bit of coast which isn't intensely touristic - some good walks and a very well labelled botanical garden. Nearby Palafrugell Palafrugell - Villas in Palafrugell has an interesting museum of cork. One of the saddest things, for me, about the Mediterranean is the loss of the ancient cork forests - I'm surprised that there's no campaign to conserve them ....

Any suggestions on where to go in northern Spain - where I'll be this summer? Basque Country probably ....

For northern Spain, San Sebastine, Bilbao and Costa Brava are good chioces to spend summer if you're interested in beach. But just as paul said, hot tourism make there "hardly 'wilderness".

There are good places in the Pyrenees but mainly to the east, in Catalonia: e.g. birding holidays spain Catalan Bird Tours spanish birding tours spanish birdwatching tours bird watching vacation birding trips bird watching trips
The Spanish side of the Pyrenees tends to be better in the spring, become rather arid in the summer ....

Thanks, yes I appreciate that everything dries up. I know people who've been to Andorra in April and found it a beautiful area but go in late summer and it's just a desert full of tourists buying duty-free! And, I suppose, in winter there are just skiers ...

A tourist question rather than a wildlife one. From previous visits I know that most Catalans, especially in Barcelona, don't like speaking Spanish (indeed, I usually get by speaking French!) but I've never been able to find a Catalan phrase book, let alone a dictionary or anything more detailed. Any suggestions where I might find one?

Trip planning

I like traveling very much. Especially, after longtime of work and much pressure, traveling abroad and experiencing a dazzling and unique natural environment is a good idea. I’ve been to Germany, Italy and Australia. So this time, I am planning to go to santander and costa tropical which are wonderful resorts for vacation and leisure in Spain. santander is a combination of sea and mountains and costa tropical is a peaceful paradise in Europe with fine-looking landmarks and picturesque villages. I’ve consulted the travel agent, those two trip resorts provide comfortable hotels with excellent service. I like them very much. Are there any suggestions you can provide for me? Thanks.

Well, I've found a wildlife aspect to the boat (I don't mind boats but they get a bit boring after the first twelve hours, I find ) - I'd much rather go by train (tricky if you're going to the Americas ) but the wife finds them very relaxing and they're almost like luxury hotels nowadays - a little luxury is useful when you're going to be camping ....

But I didn't realise that the Bay of Biscay is one of the best places to see whales, large and small -
Bay of Biscay

So I won't tuck the camera too deeply into the rucksack!

I wish I could join you in Spain. Amazing scenery.

I am always looking for the best hotel deal and have recently found a great new site that makes it very easy and quick...

Hotel Price Finder
Find the best price from 28 hotel sites - Hotel Price Finder

hotelpricefinder.com

It searches over 28 different hotel sites (including HotelClub and AsiaRooms) in one go and then lists them in order of price. You can then click through to book with the hotel site direct.

Hope you find it useful too.

I've heard this as well, meant to be one of the best spots for seeing Beaked Whales especially I think. Also some interesting seabirds around. The cruises are meant to be great, I'd love to try it one day.

Your right. How about in Menorca ? The place was also nice. Lots of beautiful spots and views. The place was amazing. A place a with a beach bars or even restaurants. And also the most popular water sports. This place will provide list of interactive hotels depending on the location. This place is gorgeous.
