I recall a thread about the threat to the Rospuda valley from road-building (as usual). Apparently an alternative has been found:
BBC NEWS | World | Europe | Poland reverses to spare wetland
The alternative route is only a couple of kilometres longer and, mind-bogglingly, is less expensive than the other plan. Makes you wonder how hard they looked for an alternative.
