Wildlife in Slovenia
I'm off to track down some of the wildlife in Slovenia next week and wondered if anyone has any tips of where I should go to find the best wildlife at this time of year.

Coincidentally, yesterday I was reminiscing about some great times in Slovenia and thinking it was about time to go again! However, that was so long ago that I can't offer any reliable advice. There's plenty of walking around and from the lakes (Lake Bohinj, I recall, less commercialised/built-up than Lake Bled). I imagine that at this time of year most of the tourists will have gone so there'll be plenty of wildlife around although, clearly too late in the year for flowers and most insects. I recall staying on the edges of Kranjska Gora and just walking out the vback gate into the Julian Alps - could well have changed! 
You could easily combine northern Slovenja with Lake Balaton and southern Hungary ....
