Mallorcan autumn
We shall be visiting Mallorca this autumn, and I wonder what we should look out for. Hope to spend some time inland both down on the plain area and in the mountains, so what wildlife may be see in Mallorca?

Well, we've now had our holiday in Majorca, and I must admit that I was a bit disappointed with the lack of Tourist Info on wildlife sites, or gen on local species which we might expect to see. Very few walks were obviously indicated and folk looked at us as though we were stupid when we said we would maybe walk 5 miles from one small town to another, when we could have caught a bus. Since the island is 'virtually closing down for the winter' I feel there's opportunites missed by not promoting the wildlife more.
I'll give a brief description of flowers, plants etc. seen - in future - if I can find their names!

Yes, holiday areas tend to be geared up to the summer sun and booze holiday culture whereas they could easily attract many people in the spring and autumn. The situation seems to be improving in Greece and France but not a lot!
Looking forward to the list - this is the sort of thing that could be very useful to people planning their hols.

Yes, all Spain are the most places to visit. I have spent several days in Spain. Barcelona and Madrid are both great cities. I feel very lucky to have spent a lot of time in Spain. Some other cities to visit: Salamanca, near Portugual, has beautiful architecture. The Basque country, too. San Sebastian is possibly the most beautiful city in the region, but Bilbao is worth visiting for the Guggenheim museum and old town, and the little seaside village of Hondarabbia. Outside Madrid are towns like Segovia, Toledo, and Avila, Toledo is probably the most famous. And Andalucia in the south, Grenada for the Alhambra, and Cordoba is very charming. Seville is very touristic but the old quarter is fantastic and you have to visit the bull ring for a tour!
The Lonely Planet guide books are always an excellent source of info and they tend to be honest, too—some guidebooks manage to find charm everywhere, but LP tells it like it is, so you don't waste time or money. As for taking the train, I found buses to actually be better. They are quite cheap and reasonably comfortable. A friend and I took the bus from Madrid to Grenada, and then travelled by bus all over Andalucia, and it was fine.
Missed the Picasso museum in Barcelona! I spent too much time in the old town...

Travel is easy, accommodation plentiful, the climate benign, the people relaxed, the beaches long and sandy, the food and drink easy to come by and full of regional variety. Also the sandy beaches in Barcelona and Costa del sol and you can also chech in Barcelona hotel and Costa del sol hotel . More than 50 million foreigners a year visit Spain, yet you can also travel for days and hear nothing but Spanish. That’s really a good idea to make a trip to Spain.

If you want to make a travel in spain make sure the accommodations is needed. And the accommodations in tenerife are abundant and there is definitely something for everyone. If you are seeking truly luxurious accommodations, the Art Ritz Carlton is the place to go. Besides the awe-inspiring views and the spectacular rooms, you receive the quality and the service that is expected from the Ritz Carlton chain. Less expensive accommodations such as the 4-star Senator Hotel Barcelona and the 4-star America Hotel Barcelona also offer fantastic service and scenic locations at an affordable price.

Sometimes I'm asked what Spanish sites are not to be missed in a visit to Spain, to which I normally respond: the Alhambra in Granada, the Mezquita in Cordoba, etc. Funny thing is, some of the Spanish places I have the fondest memories of are not on my "must see list," things like my visit to the cave home in Guadix, the walled city of Laguardia, the Roman ruins in Merida, and the Palace of Lebrija in Seville. And tarragona and cadiz .
