Facts about Solar Energy
do you know any facts about solar energy? Here are just a few that I've picked up along the way.
- less than 0.1% of all of our heating, lighting and transportation power is provided by direct solar energy.
- in 1990, a solar powered aircraft flew non-stop for more than 4000 km across the USA without the need for any fuel
- approximately one third of the world's population has no electricity supply.
- solar energy can be used to provide power for cars, heat homes, cook food, and even provide power for lighting
