RSPB and Windfarms

Apparently the Government gave the go-ahead for the first large wind farm off Walney planned by a Danish energy group . It is to develop a 75 sq km Walney Wind Farm with up to 152 giant turbines operating 14 miles off Walney.
And it looks like a second windfarm is on the way from Scottish Power Renewables who propose to build a further 130 turbines, many of them taller than Blackpool Tower!
Thankfully the RSPB has stepped in and issued a planning guide to reduce the number of poorly sited wind farms so lets hope they are listened to.
We have two nature reserves at either end of Walney Island and I hate to imagine what will happen to the birds if all these turbines are approved.
