I like travelleng in Spring, because Spring is the best season of the whole year. Relax on the golden beach by the blue sea, walk around the parks and gardens and then enjoy its nightlife before going to sleep in any of the comfortable accommodation. The next day, I am planning to have the fresh seafood served in restaurants along the seafront, or the comforting familiarity of fish 'n' chips on Bournemouth Pier. I will stay there for about 10 days and then fly to London which has a temperate climate. I mainly pay a visit to it's a variety of sporting events, such as football. In addition, rugby, tennise are also welcome by the tourists. Well, that's just my general idea, I will make a detailed travel plan soon. As to the distance between Bournemouth and London, do you think, it is very convenient? Are there any suggestions you can provide for me? Thanks.

This is the 'Eco Travel' folder - dealing with wildlife and environmentally friendly travel ..... not flying from Bornemouth to London which would be bizarre - the journey takes about one hour by train!
Personally, I would not take a plane anywhere within Europe, let alone UK
PS: However, Bournemouth is a very pleasant place to stay, close to the New Forest for wildlife and with interesting coastal habitats close by. London, in the larger sense, also has a lot of semi-natural habitats ...

Barcelona and Madrid are both great cities. I feel very lucky to have spent a lot of time in Spain. Some other cities to visit: Salamanca, near Portugual, has beautiful architecture. The Basque country, too. San Sebastian is possibly the most beautiful city in the region, but Bilbao is worth visiting for the Guggenheim museum and old town, and the little seaside village of Hondarabbia. Outside Madrid are towns like Segovia, Toledo, and Avila, Toledo is probably the most famous. And Andalucia in the south, Grenada for the Alhambra, and Cordoba is very charming. Seville is very touristic but the old quarter is fantastic and you have to visit the bull ring for a tour!
The Lonely Planet guide books are always an excellent source of info and they tend to be honest, too—some guidebooks manage to find charm everywhere, but LP tells it like it is, so you don't waste time or money. As for taking the train, I found buses to actually be better. They are quite cheap and reasonably comfortable. A friend and I took the bus from Madrid to Grenada, and then travelled by bus all over Andalucia, and it was fine.
Missed the Picasso museum in Barcelona! I spent too much time in the old town...

Rather a lot on the joys of urban Spain so what would, should you seriously do in the Spring?

The Alps and Pyrenees (and presumably other temperate high places worldwide) where the flowers spring into bloom early in the year.

Mediterranean places where the plant die down over the summer - I assume that parts of California, Australia, South Africa and Chile are much like Greece and Turkey where you see very few flowering plants after May!

Plants are, of curse, interesting and beautiful on their own but you also get insects feeding from them and vertebrates feeding on the insects ... and so forth!

Travel is easy, accommodation plentiful, the climate benign, the people relaxed, the beaches long and sandy, the food and drink easy to come by and full of regional variety. Also the sandy beaches in Barcelona and Costa del sol and you can also chech in Barcelona hotel and Costa del sol hotel . More than 50 million foreigners a year visit Spain, yet you can also travel for days and hear nothing but Spanish. That’s really a good idea to make a trip to Spain.

Sometimes I'm asked what Spanish sites are not to be missed in a visit to Spain, to which I normally respond: the Alhambra in Granada, the Mezquita in Cordoba, etc. Funny thing is, some of the Spanish places I have the fondest memories of are not on my "must see list," things like my visit to the cave home in Guadix, the walled city of Laguardia, the Roman ruins in Merida, and the Palace of Lebrija in Seville. And tarragona and cadiz .

Yes I am also like the travelling in spring, because spring is my best season. So as you question best place to go in spring. In my opinion Spain is best place for travelling because there are lots of places to visit for any traveler. Excellent and quiet beaches can be found near Malaga, Huelva and Almería in the south as well as near the coasts of La Manga, Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria and Euskadi. If you do enjoy extremely developed resort towns, there are plenty of crowded beaches on the Costa de la Luz and the Costa del Sol. Interesting is the harbour of Almerimar with cosy bars, just south of El Ejido (Almeria).

Yes, Bournmouth is a very nice resort but not great for immediate wildlife interest! Poole and the coast to the west are far more interesting. As is the New Forest behind the coast.

I have seen picture of the dinosaur coast in Dorset which would absolutely fascinate me. The chalky and rocky coastline is beautiful. The New Forest has so much to offer in the form of wildlife.
I can't comment on the West Country at all, as I have never been further west than the Isle -of -Wight, also brilliant for fossils and fantastic beaches.

That's a great part of the country with different types of limestones so lots of fossils, plants and insects but also interesting archaeology.

However, we shouldn't forget that what comes out at the coast in the SW also appears on the other side of the country from Hunstanton to Scarborough - and much less touristy!

Okay, so I'll answer this properly. The best place to go in Spring is to the foothills of the Alps or some similar mountain system (the Pyrenees, the Andes, the Rockies .... ) and see all the early flowers leaping into life and a lot of insects coming out to take advantage of the nectar and pollen.
