Displaying Tiger trophies
We all know that its BAD (and illegal)to hunt just for fun? Especially a highly endangered animal like the Tiger-
So, why is it OK for the descendants of yester-years hunters to display the tropies of their anscestors killing sprees?
Especially when the places they are displayed in claim to be conservation centered eco-lodges? Why not donate the moth eaten creatures to a local museam which can display them in the correct context and also raise money for the local conservation groups?

Yes, it's one of those annoying questions - like what do you do with your Granny's old mink coat? Personally, I'm not in the position to have to make the decision and I also suspect that museums could probably live without a lot of stuffed animals of uncertain provenance ...
Probably one of those things - does no harm even though some of us would consider it in very bad taste - I find it unpleasant going into country pubs with stuffed foxes and game birds on the walls but .... what can you do?

The urge to kill doesn't seem to be disappearing. Paul Theroux has done a programme on the industry that maintains animal populations so that they can be shot for trophies: BBC NEWS | Magazine | The price of a rhino's life? $100,000
Apparently, many species of African mammals are now more numerous on these farms than in the wild.

... not just large mammals ...
... of course almost anything that moved used to be hunted. To an extent there may have been scientific value in building up museum collections:
... but in many cases these collections were built up by rich men wanting to show off. All very sad ....
