Guten Winteranfang
My computer comes up with strange things and tells me that today is Winteranfang (also Benjamin Disraeli's birthday and the anniversary of the landing of the Pilgrim Fathers [no Mothers?] on America). I've no idea of what this is but suspect that it is midwinter (midsummer in Australia ) or the solstice. Hooray, the days will be getting longer here!
I'll be away from the computer for a few days so I'll wish everyone the seasonal best - whatever it is you celebrate ... indeed, I wish you the best even if you don't celebrate anything or, at the very least, Happy New Year!

Hi /bye Paul, have a safe trip and a lovely time .
Winteranfang is German for "winter entrance" so begining of winter ( I think! )
I would also like to wish every one here all the best for Christmas and like Paul says if you don't celebrate anything have a great New year!

Thanks.
Yes, as my youngest son has told me - this is the beginning of winter but I'm not going with that .... it's the start of the end of Winter!
