Guten Winteranfang

My computer comes up with strange things and tells me that today is Winteranfang (also Benjamin Disraeli's birthday and the anniversary of the landing of the Pilgrim Fathers [no Mothers?] on America). I've no idea of what this is but suspect that it is midwinter (midsummer in Australia) or the solstice. Hooray, the days will be getting longer here!

I'll be away from the computer for a few days so I'll wish everyone the seasonal best - whatever it is you celebrate ... indeed, I wish you the best even if you don't celebrate anything or, at the very least, Happy New Year!

Hi /bye Paul, have a safe trip and a lovely time .

Winteranfang is German for "winter entrance" so begining of winter ( I think! )

I would also like to wish every one here all the best for Christmas and like Paul says if you don't celebrate anything have a great New year!

Thanks.
Yes, as my youngest son has told me - this is the beginning of winter but I'm not going with that .... it's the start of the end of Winter!
