On Wednesday thousands and thousands of bunches of bananas were washed up on the beaches of Terschelling and Ameland, two of the islands which make up the Wadden Isalnds in the north of Holland!
10 containers which were lost from a ship in the North sea were being brought to Eemshaven near Delfzijl when the one holding the bananas split open. Of course this was a cue for scavengers, at least the beaches were cleaned up

. I wonder if the hard green bananas were protected in their skins from the cold salty sea and were edible or would they have been black inside?
