kites

saw some incredible kites on tv last week and reminded me of hours when I was younger and stood flying down in the park. These things are real big nowadays and a long way on from my blue diamond with one string

why is it that most of us stop doing this when we grow? I haven't flown a kite for 20 years but I loved it when I was child and I think I would love it again now. although i remember when kites were one bit of string and square of cloth, but now they seem to have more lines, controls and technology than the early space missions

My two kids had a go at a kite this summer,they are age 22 and 32,
It was a disaster!

Kite flying was one of those things I wanted to do when I was little - but it never worked out and was a huge dissapointment. No matter how windy the weather, how steep the hill or how fast I ran - it just dragged behind me

They have big displays on the beach here - very impressive looking things, but not how a kite is in my mind - a diamond shape with a smilie face and some bows on the string .
